Youths to clean-up Gizo town

“SIX Youth groups within the Gizo Township will commence a thorough clean-up campaign in the Western Provincial capital this week.
“This is ahead of the tour date for the famous cruise ship, Pacific Eden, this month.
“Western Province Environmental Health Inspector Merilyn Vana, told the Solomon Star Gizo that her office has engaged youth groups from six zones in the island capital.
“Youth groups are from the United church, Catholic Church, Anglican Church of Melanesia, Seventh Day Adventist, South Seas Evangelical Church and the Assembly of God.
“The clean-up work is funded by the Ministry of Tourism, and will be done along the Gizo road and the Malakerava Beach.
“Province’s Chief Tourism Officer Jeff Patovaki said that, Gizo High school students will showcase western Solomons Culture and Tradition through Dances, Chants, and Costumes during the cruise ship’s five hours stop-over.”
