Back in the early days of 1997 when as the local police commissioner access to a computer at Rove Police Headquarters was almost impossible and frequent electricity shortages were the order of the day, I used a simple typewriter I had brought to Honiara to write police news items which these days are written and published by the police media staffed with the help of seconded police personnel.
Time has moved on in the past two decades or so and with the connection to the internet, the word web has become a buzz not just in the tech industry but in various industries such as Education, Marketing, Finance, and even in the Health Care industry as well.
According to tech experts, Web3 is a new technology that will reshape the world, and applications that were not possible before will be possible with a decentralized structure and block chain technology.
Technology is always evolving, it is important to stay ahead of the curve and be ready for the future. In order to respond and navigate the way through future changes, you will first need to be able to comprehend and expect what the so called Web3 will bring.
Hence, understanding what Web3 is all about will be crucial to all industries and businesses and to the efficient functioning of government business in the Solomon Islands
Are we prepared is the question I pose?
Yours sincerely
