When I first arrived in Bangkok ten years ago to do volunteer work I moved into an apartment on the 23rd floor of a high rise property which gave me a splendid view of the Chao Phraya River.
With age catching up I decided to move to a place where I could better access public transport, shopping and medical facilities and I rented my present apartment opposite a very large shopping mall which also comprises multi story car parking above the shopping complex. My view is not as appealing as it was five years previously.
