Balance diet is vital – Advice from Taiwan

“A SPECIALIST from the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) urges locals from Balasuna areas to eat balance diet every day during meal time.
“James Yu was speaking at an integrated workshop held at Balasuna in North-East Guadalcanal on Friday.
“Its important these days that you eat balance diet to control non communicable disease (NCD) that is on the rise at the moment,” Mr Yu said.
“He added that they have successfully conquered the shortage of foods.
“But we’re facing another issue, hidden hunger which means intake of micronutrient like vitamins and minerals is imbalanced nowadays.”
“Mr Yu said, though everyone can have enough energy consumption, how to choose a balanced diet is also important for the health.
“Adding adequate vegetables diversity is necessary, so we are able to stay away from NCDs,” Mr Yu said.
“He also mentioned the importance of cooking safety, for both the cooker and the consumers is another thing of paramount for the local people.”
“More than 30 people attended that training.”
