Better outreach leads to surge in tuberculosis figures in Kiribati
Quoting Radio New Zealand – 10 June 2019
“In Kiribati improved services have caused a surge in the recorded number of victims with tuberculosis.
“Radio Kiribati reported the TB Coordinator Bereka Reiher saying the official number of TB cases increased from 134 last year to 178 so far this year, after improved outreach activities and the use of mobile clinics.
“The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is encouraging those who think they might have the symptoms of the disease to visit the nearest clinics for check-ups and early prevention.”
