A Swedish company has proposed an award winning biological treatment toilet system to Solomon Islands at the Dubai Expo 2020 this week.
Imad Agi, Chairman & CEO, ECOLOO Group from Sweden has met with Commissioner General Ambassador Moses Kouni Mose and introduced the biological treatment toilet system, which is easy to manage and suitable for use in schools and villages where access to running water is not available.
The system has also been recognized by the United Nations Foundation as one of the Top 10 Global Innovators for Global Challenges during the Solutions Summit in New York in 2016. The project was also awarded the Best Public Sector Project Award by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the winner of UNWTO SDG Competition.
“Have traveled all the way from Sweden this week, it is indeed a privilege for me to be given the opportunity by Commissioner General Mose to provide some enlightenment on the project as I believe that it will benefit many communities in the Solomon Islands”
CG Mose said such a new project would also be ideal for use in schools and villages where access to running water is not available. He said the system could also be used for the public at the Pacific Games facilities in Honiara in 2023 as it was easy to manage and maintain.
The patented sustainable toilet technology that requires no water to flush, no sewage collection, no energy consumption, low maintenance cost and byproduct is the liquid fertilizer that is odor free, pathogen free and rich with nutrients, perfect for organic farming, will definitely help to create a circular economy for the local community to sustain their living and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
