Solomon Islands Prime Minister, the Hon Manasseh Sogavare, left the country today to attend a meeting with the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission in New York, United States of America.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the UN Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) on Wednesday 7th June.
He will present the case of Solomon Islands as a post conflict country, the process of peacebuilding the country is pursuing, the challenges ahead and why the United Nations should partner the Solomon Islands Government in the pursuit of these peacebuilding initiatives.
Leaders of some other Pacific Islands Forum Member countries will also attend and make interventions during the presentation.
After the deliberations of the PBC, Prime Minister Sogavare will meet with the United Nations Secretary General, Mr António Guterres, before departing New York.
