Commissioner General Ambassador Moses Kouni Mose and IBMC CEO & Managing Director Mr Sujith Kumar, officiated at the announcement and launching of the Investment & Business Management Centre’s SME Economy eMarketplace Trade Flow System which the Solomon Islands has now officially adopted.
The brief ceremony which took place at our Pavilion on Thursday 3rd March 2022 also included Deputy Commissioner General & Pavilion Director Mr Dennis Marita, Talent SeaFoods Trading Managing Partner Mr Mohammed Kutty and Ms Elena Pendurovam, Relations Manager for IBMC UAE.
Prior to the launching, CG Mose had informed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration to seek his endorsement.
PS Riley had responded on a positive note saying that;’ “I am truly delighted to learn about this platform. This is truly a huge opportunity for our SMEs in Solomon Islands to be able to market themselves and their products to the international market. I wholeheartedly endorse this proposal. We can share this with SICCI as well as other SMEs so they seize this opportunity”.
“The initiative taken by UAE-based IBMC International will further provide support to Small to Medium Enterprises in the Solomon Islands through its ‘SME Economy E-market Trade Flow System”.
The virtual platform connects international companies from more than 50+ countries together to make international trade from its home countries.
Mr Sajith said that IBMC also aims to support UAE-based registered companies for import/export trade and to mitigate their current business challenges.
“International fund houses and investors will get opportunities to invest through the secured trade flow system and that the SME Economy platform trades will happen only through UAE-based credible and registered companies, which have completed IBMC’s trade protection strategies such as international due-diligence, trade credit insurance facilities, secured letter of credit and factoring facilities”.
CG Moses in acknowledging the presence of Mr Kumar said that the Solomon Islands was indeed fortunate to be included in such an innovative process in which Small Business entrepreneurs in the Solomon Islands will now have a much larger market to look forward to and the opportunity to sell our products.
“Today’s announcement and launching is a very innovative way where SME’s from the Solomon Islands and the UAE can communicate and do business with a wide cross section of the business community”.
The SME Economy platform amongst many other benefits will also give the registered entrepreneurs in the Solomon Islands the opportunity to register on the SME Economy platform Stock Listing.
