Snippets of news claimed from todays vote of No Confidence debate in SI National Parliament

Radio New Zealand late this afternoon reported that the Prime Minister, the Hon. l Manasseh Sogavare had survived the Vote of No Confidence motion brought by the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Matthew Wale.

Arising from the proceedings in Parliament, I noted two (claimed) statements, which I will quote.

Citizens are angry at inadequate healthcare, prime land being taken by foreigners, and logging companies overriding local interests, Mr. Wale said.

China had agreed to upgrade the Solomon Islands' hospitals and universities, parliament heard.

In the light of my many letters on the need for the upgrading and support generally for the National Referral Hospital (NRH) and especially the greater help for the many patients suffering from rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, including the necessary funding to allow such patients to be medically evacuated offshore for life-saving surgery, as well as the great need for prosthetic limbs and for their custom fitting in a fully functioning rehabilitation workshop (gifted to the NRH last September (2020), I would greatly hope that the claimed statement made about China upgrading the NRH is not a false statement made amidst challenging political debate.

In respect of what the Opposition Leader is claimed to have said in Parliament, it is also hoped the Government will note what was raised and will soon act to address the matters for the satisfaction of all concerned citizens.

Yours sincerely
