“THE Government has conveyed message of condolences to the Australian Prime Minister, the government and people of Australia on the loss of lives, properties and damage caused by the ongoing bushfire in Australia.
“In a letter to the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Acting Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga stated the Government and People of Solomon Islands watch with sympathy and genuine concern on the speed and devastation of the bush fires.
“Solomon Islands stands in solidarity with all Australians during this difficult period,” Maelanga said.
“Solomon Islands pays tribute to those on the frontline, their courage and perseverance to save lives and combat the outbursts of the fire storm,” he added.
“As your neiighbour we have very little to offer, our thoughts and prayers remain with you all.”
“Meanwhile, the letter assured Australia that Solomon Islands is prepared to offer personnel from the fire brigade should they be needed.”
