“Prime Minister (PM) Manasseh Sogavare has stated he welcomes Chinese investors to the Solomon Islands.
“During his official visit to Beijing, the PM met with various Chinese inventors such as China Railway Group and Bright Foods Limited.
“The PM acknowledged the rich natural resources of the Solomon Islands and stated that the country has a lot of potentials for investments in areas such as tourism and agriculture.
“The Prime Minister also acknowledged that the signing of the Belt and Road initiative with the People's Republic of China will facilitate for the much needed infrastructure to boost economic growth.
“Mr Sogavare also acknowledged some of the key reforms and issues considered by the government relating to investment.
“The prime minister and his delegation have visited Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong during the last week.”
