Solomon Islands. Website serving to bring local and regional news on a daily basis.
I am pleased to be able to say my website www.solomonislandsinfocus.com launched nearly 5 years ago to help bring news of the Solomon Islands, help worthy causes and promote tourism continue to serve the Solomon Islands, with well over 1 million hits.
With the lack of broadband internet services and still low levels of computer access in the Solomon Islands, the website has provided a useful link to those seeking knowledge of the Solomon Islands, including potential tourists and would-be volunteers and job seekers.
The website has links to the Solomon Star newspaper, the SIBC, Solomon Airlines, the SIVB and provides useful information of the various ‘Helping Organisations’ in the Solomons, as well as a link to my partner charity ‘Take My Hands’ based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I am most appreciative of the Editors of the Solomon Star and the Islands Sun newspapers for often publishing the stories I write in the “Blog” section of my website.
I am equally grateful for the support of many Solomon Islanders that refer inquiries or comments to me.
If the website can still serve a useful purpose, for which it was intended and introduced, then I will be willing to continue helping despite having already, for some time, attained senior citizenship status.
Yours sincerely
Frank Short.
