Image this scenario.
There are two players in putting together a picture of the Solomon Islands today.
One player holding the key pieces of the desired jig saw picture is the government and the other player (the joint citizens) of the country.
To assemble the desired picture the government hands out the pieces one by one and the receiver (the citizens) take what is given to them and try to assemble them so they complete the desired picture.
Pieces held by the government labeled say national unity, economy, health care provisioning, infrastructure, national development, the press, the media, exports, and investment, are all major bits of the jig saw but they are not capable of fitting together at this time by the citizens because either their shape or form is distorted.
The jig saw cannot be finished and correctly assembled without those vital pieces and their original cut-out shape cannot be changed.
Translating those pieces into policies and actions, it would seem the government must work harder and consistently to ensure the pieces will fit together when handed to the citizens.
While putting together a jig saw is just a game, putting together the Solomon Islands is not and much work remains to ensure a future picture of the country is assembled to the acceptance of its people and for future generations of Solomon Islanders.
Yours sincerely
