Solomon Islands: A meaningful New Year.
As 2018 draws to a close wishes and resolutions are very common at the start of the New Year but as the days go by we often forget or aims, or goals and wishes.
I would hope, however, that all in the Solomon Islands will wish for peaceful elections in March 2019, for a government that will truly serve the people, for better health care services for all, for a continuation of reconciliation and thoughts for those less fortunate in society, especially, the sick, the orphans and those that have suffered from domestic and family violence.
I would hope that all will take care of their health by reducing foods and drinks that add to non-communicable diseases and will exercise as much as possible
I would hope that people will have compassion, caring and offer help to others, including those suffering disabilities.
I would hope that people will work to take better care of the environment, the rivers, streams, forests and the seas and stop pollution, especially plastic pollution.
I would hope for peace, security and for the love, protection and continued sovereignty of the Solomon Islands.
Happy New Year to all!
Yours sincerely
