Honiara : 31 March 2017
Letter to the Editor, Solomon Star and Island Sun Newspapers.
I am pleased to be able to say that the NRH has today, 30 March, 2017, been sent an inventory from ‘Take My Hands Charitable Trust’ (TMH) in New Zealand of some 569 items of hospital equipment and medical supplies, including items of furniture, beds, mattresses, bed sheets, mobility aids, including walking frames and large quantities of valuable medical supplies that are always in short supply.
The Medical Superintendent of the NRH will make a selection of the things needed before the items needed are shipped from Christchurch in a 20 foot container directly to the NRH, possibly in April.
I can also say that TMH is getting ready to freight another 20 foot container of equipment and supplies that I requested be sent to several NGO’s in the Solomons known to be aiding the less fortunate in society, including the many orphans in the care of the Hearts of Hope Charity based on Malaita.
The freight costs for the NGO’s container were previously paid for by the Solomon Islands Forest Assocation (FSA) some 12 to 18months ago.
