MP leading by example in North Malaita.
“Promises are only as strong as the person who gives them ...”
― Stephen Richards
A praiseworthy story that caught my eye this morning, Thursday, was the piece written by Lachlan Eddie and published in the Solomon Star newspaper.
The story gave details of the North Malaita, MP Stanley Filualea who this week delivered $1 million worth of housing materials to his constituency to begin a major housing project.
The particular article went on to say, quote.
“MP Filualea told the Solomon Star the funds came from $1 million the Government recently paid to each constituency.
“The landing craft Ocean Mary was hired to deliver 4,500 bags of cements, 2,700 steel rods, water tanks for primary schools and one dental clinic unit set for Malu’u Area Health Center.
“The Dental Unit was a government funded facility.
“Mr.Filualea said the housing project was the key project for his constituency.
“This is phase one of the housing project,” he said, referring to the shipped housing materials.
“Phase 2 will include the purchase of Lucas Mill to cut timbers for the first 160 houses,” the MP said.
“The North Malaita Constituency Project Officer, Edwin Suibaea, said the housing project was one of the MP’s campaign promises to his people.
“So he is basically delivering on the promise now,” Suibaea said.
“He explained the housing project will be implemented during the course of the next four years.
“A constituent and North Malaita voter, Alfred Ala, said he was pleased to see MP Filualea delivering on his promise just a few months after winning the April elections.
Thank you for putting the needs of your constituents first, MP Filualea.
Yours sincerely
