Grassroots tangible support by the Japanese Government
I continue to be appreciative and grateful, as I have been for many years, to the Japanese Government for the tangible financial support to the Solomon Islands that has led to the building of many rural school buildings and school classrooms, the latest examples at Mala and Katova.
Direct development funding in such a way not only as positive outcomes for education, community support for the education system, for child development and welfare but also for openness in the way development aid from diplomatic partners should be given.
It would be my wish that direct aid on the Japanese model become the accepted way of all future development to avoid the kind of allegations and perceptions so often linked to circumvention of funds that never seem to have tangible results and especially in rural communities.
Arigato, Japan.
Yours sincerely
