Information recently published in the Solomon Star newspaper caught my eye and it read:
"The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB), begins visiting local potential tourist destinations this week.
This weekend, officials will tour Simbo Island, Western Province to see and experience the island’s unique features such as its active volcano, cultures and conservation sites.
The visit is part of the Ministry’s new approach to gather firsthand information on unique and untouched places to be used as tourism products to promote and market the country overseas.
