“The Guadalcanal provincial executive, under the leadership of Premier Francis Sade, is pursuing a freeze to the sale of land by non-indigenous people or entities.
This is contained in the Province’s five-year plan (2019-2023) Premier Sade launched in Honiara last Friday.
“In the plan, the province seeks to work closely with the Lands Board of the Ministry of Lands, Housings and Survey (MLHS) to freeze the sale of all alienated land held by non-indigenous person or entity as Fixed Term Estate (FTE).
“The document noted that the provincial government will move to re-acquire all alienated land from Tenaru to Lungga.
It is understood, those claiming to own Levers Solomons Limited (LSL) have been selling land in the Lungga area.
The plan noted that the provincial government will issue stop notices to everyone to stop any move to sell alienated land.”
