“All ten Provinces have beefed up their preparedness to counter any possible outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
“According to the latest situation report, preventative measures taken by provinces are in alignment with the National Government's measures to mitigate possible importation of COVID-19.
“Currently, awareness of COVID-19 is ongoing in all provinces and Honiara city. All ten Provinces have already identified Institutional Quarantine facilities as their preparedness intensifies.
“Meanwhile, the Honiara City and Guadalcanal Province Emergency Operation Centers are now fully operational. The Municipal Disaster Operations Committee and the Provincial Operations committee have since held several meetings to plan out countermeasures should there be an outbreak.
“Honiara City and Guadalcanal Province remain the two most likely entry points of COVID-19.”
