AUSTRALIA has provided a SBD$1.2million mobile x-ray machine for the Medical Imagining Department at the National Referral Hospital.
A statement from the Australian High Commission said the mobile machine will enable patients access x-ray services without the need to be moved to the X-ray Department.
“For critical and urgent cases this will enable faster diagnosis and improve patient care,” the statement said.
It said Australia is dedicated to strengthening health care in Solomon Islands, working hand in hand with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to build a stronger health system.
