Appreciation of the National Referral Hospital NRH

Today, in another of my reflective letters. I usually compose during a weekend and already posted, I suggested it was appropriate to give a word of thanks to the government, the MMHS, frontline personnel, doctors, nurses, suppliers of Covid vaccinations, including diplomatic partners and international agencies, for the measures adopted in the Solomon Islands to efficiently put an end to the pandemic and see air borders re-opened and some of the past stringent health safety measures minimized or dropped by the government and Solomon Airlines.

One of the official last duties Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II undertook before her sad passing in September this year, was to present the George Medal to the UK’s National Health Service for the sterling work the NHS did in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom.

That act of recognition reminds me of the depth of gratitude, in a similar way, we all owe to the MHMS and the NRH for seeing us through the pandemic.

In a like manner I believe we should, collectively, be thankful and appreciative of the help given to the NRH over a time, with supplies of equipment, specialist facilities and medical supplies, including vaccinations, as well as individual donations of medical aids and supplies.

I offer my personal thanks to all involved in such support of the NRH both recently and over a lengthy period in the past.

Yours sincerely
