After a 21 year deep sleep.
I mean no disrespect to the Solomon Islands by penning this final piece for the year but it really concerns me that utterances and statements made by individuals and former politicians in the Solomon Islands in the last few days regarding the need to address domestic violence, unemployment and restructuring to boost the economy, fix the problems in health service delivery , job creation, boost tourism, protect the environment, promote re-forestation, enhance quality education, advance gender equality, and improve social inaquality are all concerns that I heard of and worried myself about 21 years ago when serving in the Solomon Islands.
I feel, today, very much like Rip Van Winkle, awaked to see the same issues being once again issues of major concern and ask myself the simply question why?
Yours sincerely
