Pacific Games Council President wants a clean Honiara for the 2023 Pacific Games:
Quoting the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation – 26 February 2018
“The Pacific Games Council President Mr Vidhya Lakhan has raised the need for a clean Honiara for the 2023 Pacific Games.
“Mr Lakhan made a 5 day visit to the Solomon Islands last week to meet with the local sport federations and assess the country’s preparations for the 2023 games.
“We want to see a clean and modern Honiara,” he said.
“In 2023 we want to present to other pacific countries a different Honiara to what we are seeing today.”
“Lakhan said they will be meeting with the Honiara City Council Mayor, Andrew Mua to discuss plans in upgrading and beautifying the city for the games.
“He said they want other Pacific Islands athletes who will be coming to Honiara to see a different Honiara and to return with a positive impression on the city.”
