Lions Club charity aid to the Solomon Islands National Referral Eye Centre
The tragic events in New Zealand in the past couple of weeks has focused the world’s attention on the Pacific country that has done so much, and continues to do much, for the Solomon Islands.
For my part, I would like to express my thanks to the New Zealand Lions Clubs for having so generally responded to appeals for recycled spectacles over the last four years.
The Solomon Islands has to-date received over 6,000 pairs of recycled and balanced eye glasses which have been donated to needy people throughout the country by the Honiara based Referral Eye Centre which, itself was a gift from New Zealand and the NZ Fred Hollows Foundation.
Mauruuru ki nga Riki Lions me Aotearoa
Yours sincerely
